Want to know how often you should run?  Is running every day ok?  How many rest days should I take?  Let’s find out.

Beginners.  Start out slow and aim for two or three days a week.  Try for 30 minutes each time.

Experienced runners can workout three to four times a week.  Try to get a full days recovery rest between each run.

Don’t forget, just like a gym workout, your muscles need proper rest for effective recovery and rebuilding.

Mix up your routine, do a variety of running exercises.  Try sprinting, long distance, intervals, stairs, hills etc.  Great for stamina and fitness.

Work out a weekly running schedule in advance.  Don’t leave your running to chance, set out your workout plan and stick to it.

Here’s a great weekly plan.  Weekend long run, easy Tuesday recovery run, hard workout on Thursday for at least an hour.

Remember your warm-up and cool down, add in some light stretching.  And don’t forget to hydrate.

We recommend three to four days a week running for most people, with proper rest days in between each workout for best results.
